Peran Keluarga dalam Membentuk Karakter Sosial Remaja
Abstract
The role of the family in social development of adoscents is very important, because the family is thge first instituation that forms the social charackther of individuals. Through the parenting pattern applied, the family affects adolescents' ability to interact with society and peers, as well as in managing emotions and empathy. The family is not only the first place for children to learn social values, but also determines how they will socialize outside the home. Parenting patterns, whether authoritarian, democratic, or permissive, have a significant impact on the formation of adolescents' social character. Democratic parenting, for example, encourages adolescents to become independent, confident, and responsible individuals. On the other hand, authoritarian or permissive parenting can foster social problems such as low self-confidence or difficulty adapting to social rules. Internal factors such as parenting experience and External factors such as the social, economic, and cultural environment also affect the way parents educate their children. Thus, the role of the family in educating and shaping the social character of adolescents does not only depend on the parenting style applied, but is also influenced by social changes and the challenges of the times. This study reveals the importance of a balanced and adaptive parenting pattern so that adolescents can develop with strong social characters and be able to face future challenges.
