EXPLORING THE CHARACTERISTICS OF EXCELLENT TEACHER PROFESSIONALISM IN THE DIGITAL ERA

Abstract

Teacher professionalism is one of the important factors in improving the quality of education. Therefore, this study aims to explore the characteristics of teacher professionalism that are relevant to the demands of the digital era. This study uses a literature study method using content analysis. This journal is the result of data collection through books, related journal articles, and from print media and other online media. The initial step involves collecting relevant articles from internet journals and other trusted sources and then analyzing them to find the relevance of the material. The results of this study indicate that teacher professionalism can be defined as the ability of teachers to manage an effective learning process, understand students' needs, and develop themselves continuously. The characteristics of professional teachers include teaching skills, the ability to understand students, and the ability to develop themselves. In the digital era, teachers need to have characteristics such as flexibility, creativity, and the ability to use technology to support the learning process. Teacher competencies in the digital era include the ability to use technology, the ability to develop digital teaching materials, and the ability to manage virtual classes. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the development of teacher professionalism in the digital era.
